Work as play

Well, we say, "one must live"
Alan Watts — Work As Play (youtube)
Don't make a distinction between work and play. Regard everything you are doing as play, and don't imagine for one minute that you have to be serious about it.
...
Now you see, living, like this plant, is something spontateous. ... You stop this spontaneous flowering of nature cold it you tell it it must do it.
...
The swinging of the ball is just to swing. And if you take it seriously and say "are you doing anything useful?" useful for what? "useful to go on." But if you take that attitude, going on becomes a drag.
Sublime, and a little ridiculous. This recording is a treasure.
