Automatic door fun

Today I went through two different sets of automatic doors (at the bank, and at the library). Each time, I made a hand wavy motion to make it look like I was using the force or somesuch to make the door slide. It was fun.

Here's a stab at Like Spinning Plates by Radiohead. I got the score from this ace web site. Ending went a bit wrong :(

Coming home

Yesterday I saw one of the most beautiful sights I can remember, driving through the big cutting in the hill as you go up the M40, rounding the corner so the view out to the west is revealed on the left. About 8pm towards the end of what had been a fiery sunset; now a red glow. The sky purple and grey, down to a thin intense red line on the horizon. Below it a wide expanse of fields stretching in from the horizon; dark grey, almost blue in the far distance, graduating to a deep, dark green. And the motorway streaming white with car headlamps curving away northwards.

All accompanied by Dave Pierce's Dance Anthems on radio 1 :)

VW Concert

Festival Hall, RPO+Leonard Slatkin with Vaughan Williams London Symphony (No. 2). Really good, I thought. D.B. described it as "like Mahler, a bit baggy jumper. Essentially a collection of nice chords".

An old lady two rows back had a bit of a tickle in her throat. She began by coughing quietly but as the first movt. grew her cough volume grew with it, culminating in a marvellouly well timed musical/coughing crescendo.

Light Bulbs

Today I received an unexpected free gift in the post:

To welcome you to your new home and thank you for choosing Powergen, we've included with this letter four low energy light bulbs FREE of charge.

How nice. I have put one in the bathroom.

Today

Don't you find it's hard sometimes?

Current mood: lacking something
Current music: radio 3

Mmm being self-contradictory I suppose. Gosh.

Plinky plonky

Now I have my piano in my flat I have been playing it a bit. I mostly like to try to produce sounds and amongst the crap I sometimes tap in to myself for a moment and express something. It has a record button and I decided to put what I played today on here.
