A brush with the law
Today I had dealings the Police. The story goes like this: I parked my car in a car park in the town centre. I was in a rush as I was slightly late for viewing a flat which I might potentially want to rent. I looked round the flat, which was quite nice. After that (about 15 minutes later) I went back to my car and there were two women and two policeman standing near my car talking, and a police car. As I approached the car they did not seem to notice me so I said, is there a problem, this is my car. One of the women said it's YOUR car! then walked near to me and theatrically pretended to slap me in the face. I was very confused. Then one of the policeman said that I had left the car door open. I said, oh dear how silly of me, and sort of smiled and looked sheepish. The policeman then asked me my address so I told hime and he said yes that's right, very well off you go. As I turned away the other policeman said, hang on a minute, you have been very careless. You must be more careful than to park in this car park and leave the door open. You have some property on the back seat and you must be more careful. I said yes, I do not normally leave my car door open. I will not do it again. Then he went on and on repeating himself for a bit longer, and said other very stupid things that were blatantly obvious and also patronising. Then I got in my car and they got in their car. They stayed there for about 1 minute while I waited for them to move, as they were blocking me in. Then I drove home. That is the end, and it is a true story.
